Summary

Rich Text TOC does not sell data or run advertising. The Designer Extension uses Webflow's official APIs. When you authorize the app, our server registers your TOC script via Webflow's Custom Code API on your behalf.

What the app does

  • Reads the currently selected Rich Text element in the Designer (Webflow Designer API).
  • Sets an Element ID on that element when you click Create TOC.
  • Registers and applies a TOC script to your site through Webflow's Custom Code API when you click Apply to site (after OAuth authorization).

App workflow (full flow)

These are the steps the app performs when you use it:

  1. Install the app from the Webflow Apps panel.
  2. Open the app inside the Webflow Designer on your site.
  3. Authorize app — one-time OAuth so we can call Webflow's Custom Code API for your workspace.
  4. Select a Rich Text block and choose heading levels (H1–H4).
  5. Create TOC — sets the Rich Text Element ID via the Designer API (processed in your browser).
  6. You add a TOC container (e.g. Div with your TOC Element ID) on the page in the Designer.
  7. Apply to site — our server registers and applies the TOC script to your site footer through the Custom Code API.
  8. You publish the site; the live TOC runs from your Rich Text headings.

We do not store your article body text. OAuth tokens are used only to complete API requests you start from the app.

What we do not do

  • No analytics or ad tracking in the extension
  • No sale or sharing of personal data
  • No storage of your Rich Text body content on our servers

Data location

TOC preview and heading extraction run in your browser inside the Designer. OAuth tokens for the Custom Code API are stored on our application server only to complete API requests you initiate. Script code is registered on Webflow's platform per their policies.

Third parties

The app uses Webflow Designer APIs, Webflow Data APIs (Custom Code), and your app backend. We do not embed third-party analytics in the extension UI.
