Complete app workflow

  1. Install Rich Text TOC from the Webflow Apps panel.
  2. Open your site in the Designer and launch the app.
  3. Click Authorize app once (Custom Code API access).
  4. Select a Rich Text block; choose heading levels H1–H4.
  5. Set Rich Text source ID and TOC container ID if needed.
  6. Click Create TOC to set the Element ID on Rich Text.
  7. Add a Div (or block) with your TOC container ID on the page.
  8. Click Apply to site, then Publish.

Common issues

  • Authorize fails — ensure the app API is running and OAuth redirect URI is configured in the Webflow App Dashboard.
  • No TOC on live site — publish after Apply to site; check Rich Text and TOC container Element IDs match the app.
  • Empty preview — add H2/H3 headings inside Rich Text, then click Create TOC again.
